Lights and shadows in the remediation of contaminated sites after 20 years from DM 471/1999

Lights and shadows in the remediation of contaminated sites after 20 years from DM 471/1999. Remediation solutions with low environmental / economic impact.

Since the publication of the former Decree 471/1999, remediation activities have been authorized and relaized also for the overcoming of single non-significant parameters.

This is the case of the Paradox of the Tin removed from the norm, also with the contribution of Ecosurvey®.

Based on Health and Environmental Risk Analysis it is possible to approach the need of remediation by a completely innovative process. Therefore, remediation interventions have become more targeted and selective.

“Lights and shadows in the remediation of contaminated sites after 20 years from DM 471/1999” conference will show how the experience on site’s remediation allows to highlight the most critical issues to suggest improvements that, brought to the current legislation, would allow to speed up and conclude the remediation interventions.

Several “virtuous” examples, especially at the local level, can demonstrate how the correct interpretation of the legislation, the constructive collaboration between the contamination manager and the authorities and the selection of the most appropriate remediation strategies / technologies could speed up the conclusion of the proceedings and the redevelopment of contaminated areas.

During the conference, Ecosurvey®’s technicians will be available for information on green remediation opportunities. Moreover, a green and sustainable remediation project will be presented, whose benefits have been evaluated in collaboration with the Alma Mater, University of Bologna.
